Men’s soccer

The men’s soccer team beat William Jessup, 3-2, on Oct. 8. Freshman Giovanni Serrato was named Defensive Player of the Week for the California Pacific Conference, and Joel Pelton was recognized as CalPac Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

The men’s team is third in the conference with a 3-2 record, 5-4 record overall, with five games remaining.

Volleyball

Bethany’s volleyball team won in four games against William Jessup on Oct. 8, and then traveled to Redding for a 3-2 loss to Simpson University on Oct. 9.

The Bruins will play their annual alumni game at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15.

The team will continue with conference play against Mills College on at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16. Both of these matches will be at home in Redwood Auditorium.

Cross country

The cross country team placed first at the Vanguard Invitational in Modesto on Oct. 9. Two runners had top 20 rankings: Chelsea Morter finished ninth, and freshman Wayne Smith was 12th in the men’s race.

The team will head to Santa Clara University on Saturday for a meet with other Bay Area schools.
