Falcon Cheer Camp upcoming

The Scotts Valley High cheer squad will host its second Falconette Junior Cheer Camp for girls ages 5 through 12.

The camp is at the Scotts Valley High gym from 9 a.m. to noon July 6 through 8, and there is a performance and barbecue at the end of camp.

Each participant will learn motions, cheers, receive a T-shirt and perform a short dance.

Cost is $75, and the registration deadline is June 27.

Desert Dingo rides again

The Desert Dingo Racing team won the Stock Bug Class at last weekend’s X-treme Outlaws 250 desert run in Reno.

The Felton-based team won its second race in a row after taking its class in the Yerington 300 in May.

The team’s most recent win solidifies its first-place position in points in the Valley Off Road Racing Association series.

Bob Russell of San Jose and Jim Graham of Felton are the drivers.

The team has three more races before tackling the Baja 1000 in Mexico in November.
