Tour of California rolls through Bonny Doon on Tuesday

Lance Armstrong, Levi Leipheimer and the rest of the professional cyclists racing the annual Amgen Tour of California will ride through Bonny Doon and into Santa Cruz for a finish at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk on Tuesday afternoon.

As part of the third leg of the race, the riders will ride south on Highway 1 and turn left at Bonny Doon Road between 2:30 p.m. and 3:10 p.m. depending on the speed of the race.

The peloton will climb Bonny Doon Road and turn onto Pine Flat Road between 2:41 and 3:15 p.m. and then veer right onto Empire Grade Road between 3:10 and 3:50 p.m. From there they will ride down the mountain past the U.C. Santa Cruz campus and into Santa Cruz where they will finish the race at the Boardwalk between 3:21 and 4:03 p.m.
