EDITOR,

I am so saddened by the recent crimes in our area. However, I’m very sorry to say I am not at all surprised by the violence at Felton Covered Bridge Park. The place has become a hoodlum hangout.

I hope that the authorities step up their presence in that area. I don’t like going there because of all the unsupervised teens and vagrancy in the area. I have seen and heard things in that park that I prefer my children not be exposed to.

I was mortified this past summer when I took my out-of-state family there for lunch after leaving Roaring Camp. I took my 5-year-old nephew to the historical bridge to find people in the bridge doing drugs. It’s hardly a way to impress tourists visiting our beautiful area.

I refuse to go there anymore. I would gladly spend the extra five minutes in my car to go to Skypark to avoid the rubbish at Covered Bridge. It’s really sad!
