Scotts Valley will ring in the holiday season with its annual tree-lighting festival Saturday, Dec. 5.

The celebration will begin at 5 p.m. at the large tree near Walgreens, 210 Mount Hermon Road, in Scotts Valley. There will be a canned food drive to benefit Valley Churches United Missions, a raffle for a decorated tree, photos with Santa Claus, carriage rides, skating and a barbecue.

Those who attend can donate cans or cash to participate in some of the events, with a can equaling a dollar donation.

Members of Scotts Valley’s service clubs — Kiwanis, Lions, Rotary and Exchange — will be involved in the celebration.
