Mountain Community Resources in Felton has been selected as one of the 2009 Good Times Community Fund recipients.

The Good Times newspaper and Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County teamed up to choose MCR as one of the five recipients of the benefit.

Good Times will feature MCR in a newspaper article this month, and any donations made through the Community Foundation for MCR between now and Dec. 31 will be matched by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.

“It’s really exciting, especially in these times — especially the matching funds,” said Jennifer Anderson-Bähr, MCR executive director.

MCR will receive a $3,000 grant as a start, and donations on top of that will be doubled.

The other resource centers chosen by Good Times are The Davenport Resource Service Center, Familia Center, La Manzana Community Resources and the Live Oak Family Resource Center.

Donations should be specified for MCR, or they will be split evenly between the five resource centers, Anderson-Bähr said
