Spotlight: Valley disaster talk on tap

Take a tour through the history of natural disasters that have shaped the San Lorenzo Valley.

The retired emergency services manager for the San Mateo Fire Department, Pat Jocius, will deliver a presentation titled “Fires, Floods and Earthquakes in the San Lorenzo Valley” later this month.

The talk will be at the San Lorenzo Valley Senior Center, 8500 Highway 9, in Ben Lomond, beginning at 3 p.m. Oct. 18.

The meeting is sponsored by the San Lorenzo Valley Museum, State Farm agent Jim Flynn and the Valley Women’s Club. A $5 donation per family is requested.
