Editor’s note: The following is a response, as seen on www.pressbanner.com, from columnist William Brigham to the commentary by Scotts Valley Unified School District Superintendent Susan Silver.

EDITOR,

It is good to know of positive changes by the district. But with the grand jury report — blemishes and all — still “on the table” and the district reply not yet filed, this remains a matter of current interest, not old news.

I, for one, would welcome the opportunity to contribute time and energy to alleviating teen substance abuse in Scotts Valley. That is one reason why I wrote my Sept. 4 column, and why I have spent more than 35 years working in the field, including serving on the advisory boards of two California counties.

That the Press-Banner allows for dissenting and varying views is to its credit, not its detriment. Dialogue is healthy.

William Brigham, Scotts Valley

They removed the thumbs down, so you can see all their friends comments, but not what people think about it. Cherry pickers.

it's OK as long as you agree...
