Due to their daughter's talents in gymnastics, the couple founded the Santa Cruz Gymnastics Club which enabled many young girls to compete on a national level.

In addition, Mr. Lovell worked in the construction industry for many years. After he retired he made his home in Lake Tahoe, Calif. He enjoyed to ski, the great outdoors and the alpine lifestyle.

Mr. Lovell was known as a patient and enthusiastic teacher on the slopes, but one of his greatest joys was teaching his daughter and many years later, his grandson to ski.
