Felton Empire Road was shut down for part of the afternoon of Monday, Aug. 19, while Cal Fire crews battles a wildland fire that charred at least a quarter of an acre of land in the Fall Creek region of Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park.

The fire was rapidly brought under control, and no injuries or property damage was reported as of 5 p.m. Monday, but the fire is the lastest in a disturbing trend of small fires in recent weeks.

We all need to be vigilant for bums walking around the area. Remember all of our cellphones have cameras. If you see something, call the sheriffs, or take a picture of these trolls...I am not alone in believing they are the cause of these fires. Kudos to CalFire and our volunteers.

Thanks Press Banner. "Disturbing trend" for sure.
