Surf team wins again
The Santa Cruz Mountains surf team won a third victory in four contests in the Santa Cruz Scholastic Surf League season, claiming a 63.5-51.5 win against Aptos High on Sunday, Feb. 24, at Pleasure Point in Santa Cruz.
Eight surfers from the Santa Cruz Mountains team made it to the semifinal or final level in individual competition: Sophie Northcott, Rose Schroeder and Devon Northcott of San Lorenzo Valley High School; Evan Milnes of Scotts Valley High; and St. Francis freshmen Shelby Robinette, Paul Colosi and Luke Colosi.
Three out of six of the competitors in the individual bodyboard finals were from the Santa Cruz Mountains team. Senior Devon Northcott placed third overall in bodyboard, Milnes placed fourth and Luke Colosi was fifth.

The final contest of the league season will be Sunday, March 10, at Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz.
