Impressed, not surprised, with candidate

EDITOR,

I was impressed, but not surprised, to see that 5th District County Supervisor candidate Bruce McPherson has been attending county budget hearings.

From his knowledgeable comments it is clear that he has an understanding about the sheriff’s budget and the need to support crucial community services throughout the county.

I know he has experience — and an excellent record — in dealing with budgetary and other financial issues as our elected representative, and from his long-time commitment to numerous nonprofit organizations here, such as Second Harvest Food Bank, Land Trust of Santa Cruz County, Tannery Arts Center, Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and so many more.

I also know how deeply he cares about serving the people of Santa Cruz County, and that he will be a great and truly representative county supervisor.

Thomas Andersen, Felton

I agree with this letter completely. I admire the candidate, his endorsements and the way he comports himself.
