Little League registration opens

Registration is now open for the 2012 San Lorenzo Valley Little League season. Families can sign up either online or in person.

Players can register from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 6, a week from Sunday, at the SLV Little League field at San Lorenzo Valley High School, 7105 Highway 9, in Felton.

Weeknight registration will continue from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at Boulder Creek Elementary School, 400 W. Lomond St., in Boulder Creek; Nov. 8 at 9500 Central Ave., in Ben Lomond; and Nov. 16 at the SLV High School staff room.

Early-bird pricing is $130 per player, with discounts for families, through Dec. 14. After that, the price increases to $150 per player

The parents of new players must provide a copy of the player’s birth certificate.

Softball registration begins

Registration for the 2012 San Lorenzo Valley softball season will begin from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at Boulder Creek Elementary School, 400 Lomond St., in Boulder Creek. In-person registration will continue from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 5 at the Ben Lomond Fire Department, 9430 Highway 9, in Ben Lomond.

Families can also sign up online.

Registration fees go up by $20 for those who enroll after Dec. 1. Registration ends Dec. 31.

New players must take a copy of their birth certificate to register.

Softball team opens with strong showing

The Santa Cruz Mountain Dream girls fast-pitch softball team took second place in the Fremont United States Specialty Sports Association 15-and-under Opener Tournament over the weekend, Oct. 22 and 23. The team is composed of girls from the San Lorenzo Valley.
