Cougar runners head to Oregon

San Lorenzo Valley High’s cross country team is traveling to Oregon for the ninth annual Nike Pre-national Cross Country Meet in Portland on Saturday, Sept. 29.

The prestigious meet will include some of the top runners in the nation among 100 cross country teams and more than 3,000 runners.

As highest-ranked team in California for Division IV, the SLV girls team is among the top challengers, according to race organizers. The Cougar boys, ranked ninth in the state, will also run.

Head coach Rob Collins said a girls B team will travel to the Stanford Invitational this weekend, too.
