Pastor releases sixth book
Scotts Valley author Glennon Culwell will sign his latest book, “Green Pastures by Still Waters” on Sunday, Oct. 7, at Gateway Bible Church in Scotts Valley.
In the book, Culwell, a founder of Baymonte Christian School in Scotts Valley, deals with troubles such as insomnia, discouragement, depression, defeat and sadness, based on Psalm 23, found in the Bible.
Psalm 23 is familiar to many, beginning “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Culwell will be at the church, 5000 Granite Creek Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday to sign copies of the book, which is available online at www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnoble.com.
Earlier this year, Culwell published “We Are More than Conquerors,” a collection of lessons on how to defeat the problems of life from a Christian perspective.
20,000 pounds of e-waste collected
The city of Scotts Valley and Scotts Valley Rotary Club collected more than 20,000 pounds of electronics during their 10th annual e-waste collection.
Most of the e-waste was in the form of computers, monitors and television sets. These items are banned from landfill disposal because many contain lead, mercury and other heavy metals that are hazardous when released into the environment.
ECS recycling, a certified recycler, will dispose of the e-waste properly.
Proceeds from the event will help with Rotary’s community work and Scotts Valley’s recycling programs.
