I am a Democrat who did not know Bruce McPherson until after I withdrew as a candidate for 5th District supervisor last winter. I have since come to know Bruce personally, and I now fully support him as the only viable candidate in the race for this county’s 5th District supervisor seat. Bruce combines a deep understanding of the challenges facing our local communities with a unique ability to always find effective solutions to difficult issues. He is highly respected for his collaborative leadership approach, his skill as a negotiator, and his long history of bipartisan accomplishments as a former California legislator and secretary of state. Eric Hammer can take credit for his focus on local issues, but he remains unproven in the larger arena. Bruce’s competence as a leader has been repeatedly proven over the years, and his experience spans a far broader, deeper, and more complex landscape. We are in very difficult times currently, and we desperately need capable, proven, and ethical leadership going forward. Please join me as a Democrat voting for Bruce McPherson for supervisor, 5th District, Santa Cruz County.

We need change! We need different ideas! We need someone new! We don't need more of the same that got us into this mess!
Vote for Hammer! He actually cares about the SLV and our problems! Don't vote for a rich guy who will just keep everything like it has always been! don't make the McPherson MISTAKE!!!!!
If you don't see all the problems our area is currently in, you are truly blind. To believe McPherson, one of the "good old boys" is going to fix that, you are mistaken. The likes of him have got us into this mess. To think the state or the feds are going to bale us out of our problems is misguided. We need to do this on our own. We can't count on cronyism any longer!
George, you TRULY believe that just because you've "known" McPherson these last few months you truly "know" him? you need to do some more research. Not to mention come clean on the fact why you REALLY want to vote against Hammer....tell the truth now...
So, isn't Hammer just more of the same and the likes of him will keep us in the mess we are in?
put the stereotype behind you. One thing Hammer isn't is typical politician type. That is what has him at odds with a few noisy folks in Boulder Creek. It is also why we need him instead of Mcpherson! We need change from where we are currently headed. Mcpherson won't do that, it'll be more of the same with that guy.
