Kiwanis Club of Scotts Valley

On April 6, the club participated in the annual Kiwanis International Day of Service with a beautification effort at Scotts Valley High School.

The club was joined by Kiwanis-affiliated youth from University of California, Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley High School and members of the Santa Cruz Kiwanis Club to paint curbs, locker rooms and landscaping.

More than 30 participants volunteered nearly 50 hours of service.

In May, the club will award its Mike Smith and Grabill Scholarships to students who have achieved excellence in their high school careers.

In addition, the club continues to enlist sponsors and vendors for the fifth annual Music at Skypark summer concert series to benefit the music programs in local schools.

The club meets at 7 a.m. Wednesdays at Bruno’s BBQ, 230 Mount Hermon Road, in Scotts Valley, except for the second Wednesday of each month. That day’s meeting is at Bruno’s at 6:30 p.m.

All are welcome.
