Scotts Valley and San Lorenzo Valley residents will have the chance to hear from the three candidates running for Santa Cruz County supervisor at two separate candidate forums.

A Scotts Valley forum will begin at 7 p.m. April 30, a Monday, at Scotts Valley Community Center, 360 Kings Village Road.

A San Lorenzo Valley forum will begin at 7 p.m. May 3, the following Thursday, in the new San Lorenzo Valley High School multipurpose room, 7105 Highway 9, in Felton.

The moderated forums will limit candidate answers to two minutes each, and each candidate will have the opportunity to answer every question.

The forums are headed by the Press-Banner in partnership with the San Lorenzo Valley and Scotts Valley chambers of commerce.

The public is invited to attend either forum or both.

For information: Editor Peter Burke, or 438-2500.

Residents may submit questions to ask supervisors by filling out a form here. Questions will be accepted until 9 a.m. Monday, April 23.

I would like to thank everybody for my opportunity to run for office, and ability to get fair consideration. I would like to especially thank the Press Banner that has continued to provide intelligent and unbiased information, which other media organizations have often failed to provide. These forums were organized with professionalism to be proud of. For a small local newspaper, we do have the best!

Bill, I agree! The San Lorenzo Valley has been in need of an unbiased press and some unbiased forums for a long time. Glad to see the local paper and chambers of commerce providing those for us.

Hurray! Can this forum please be set up so the candidates don't get the questions in advance? We want to hear authentic responses. Not staged, practiced ones.

Thank you.
